I have not heard alot from the MSM about the Compassion Forum (the brainchild of Faith in Public Life) which aired Sunday on CNN.
I found these words by Eboo Patel from a collaborative of Newsweek and the Washington Post interesting:
Obama (finally!) discussed his positive experience with Islam in Indonesia. He described it as a tolerant faith which lived comfortably with other religions, in a society where women had freedom and dignity. He concluded by saying that it was clear to him that Islam, like other religious traditions, had much to offer the modern world.
Finally, according to Obama: America is a Christian nation, a Jewish nation, a Buddhist nation, a Hindu nation, a Muslim nation, an atheist nation, etc.
"And yet, John McCain refuses to learn from the failures of the Bush years. Instead of offering an exit strategy for Iraq, he’s offering us a 100-year occupation." -Obama
"On national security, Senator Obama would rather rehash the past than look forward with resolve to address fundamental challenges and opportunities we have today to secure our future. He has embraced an irresponsible policy of withdrawing our troops from Iraq without regard for the conditions on the ground, the advice of our military commanders or the consequences of failure, which his own top advisor called unrealistic." -McCain
On Easter morning, Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern faced off with Cathedral of Hope pastor, Dr. Scott Jones for a debate regarding her recent controversial comments on terrorism and homosexuality. Video Here
She feels homosexuality is wrong according to the Bible, and tears down the family, therefore a threat like terrorism.
“While most wives would have, at least, some problem standing by their adulterous man-regardless of the gender of his lover [said for the sake of Jim McGreevy]-Democrat wives seem to have a strong stomach for this sort of thing” (Margolis and Noonan, “Caucus of Corruption: The truth about the new Democratic Majority”, p. 178).
Pressure mounted today on NY Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign because of his prostitution scandal. A top state Republican is threatening to push for impeachment proceedings if the governor doesn't step down in 48 hours. State residents "cannot have this hanging over their heads," said Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco [As if it's not bad enough they have Hillary Clinton as a Senator]. Story here. This is not the first run in Spitzer has had with Tedisco. Tedisco promised a lawsuit to block the Spitzers proposal directing that New York state allow illegal aliens to be issued driver’s licenses Story here. NY Senator Hillary Clinton backed the proposal, by the way.
Spitzer is known for liberal politics. In April 2007, Spitzer proposed a bill that would legalize same-sex marriage in New York. State Senate Majority Leader Joe Bruno announced his opposition to the proposal. This legislation passed in the State Assembly on June 19, 2007, but died in the State Senate and was returned to the Assembly.
Well maybe there is hope for Spitzer. Margolis and Noonan said in their book, “Caucus of Corruption: The truth about the new Democratic Majority”, “While Mark Foley did the right thing by immediately resigning…he could have prolonged his political career by moving to Massachusetts and registering as a Democrat” (p. 175). Perhaps this could be true for Spitzer? Just look how far Barney Frank has gone! As the authors noted, “Liberals can get away with just about anything if their voting record is reliably leftwing” (p. 175)…”they get away with it because their liberal constituents easily forgive them and demonize those who dare criticize them.” (p. 181).
Hate is one thing, but another form of psychopathology takes place when hate leads to murder. The act of murder is psychopathic. Hate and murder are not always synonymous. While we can argue that hate is a bad thing, we can not agree it always, or even usually, leads to murder. Some murdered victims were never known by their murderers, therefore there was no personal hate against them. Usually, the victim was one who merely got in the way. However, in a sense, it could be argued that the murderer had a generalized hate, thus leading to the crime to begin with. However we look at murder, the evidence of psychopatholgy is clear and one that is largely absent of moral, law abiding people.
So, why is the media and education system assuming that the opposition of homosexuality is hate? And why is this so-called hate being associated with murder, to a larger generalization? I question this as given the extreme reporting of the Matthew Shepard murder and now recently, Lawrence King, a 15-year-old boy murdered by a peer. Ellen Degeneres recently used her comedy talk show as a platform to discuss the King murder. She even mentioned that she was “not political” but yet brought up politics bringing into the limelight the recent election race, saying “there a lot of talk on ‘change’…..check on who you are voting for…change your vote….” . If this is not a true sounding board for Obama, or the democrat party in general, then I don’t know what is. Is Obama and the term "change" synonymous? I think so! Sure, she’s not political!
Democrat runners Obama and H. Clinton both also made public statements about the murder.
These murders were sad, senseless, and horrible – pathological. But likewise is the use of them as political platforms which purge sympathy for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) everywhere, molding manipulation for LGBT rights agendas in every loose direction.
Since Lawrence King's murder, there have been over 30 candlelight vigils throughout the country. This was sparked by efforts of GLSEN (a complete list of these events can be found at GLSEN.org). Diane Gramley, president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania, dropped the ball on this organization when she discovered they were encouraging students to read books such as Rainbow Boy and In Your Face : Stories From the Lives of Queer Youth. According to Gramley,
"These books talk about, in most cases, in explicit detail, sexual encounters,…usually between male teenagers and older males." She contended that any school that partners with GLSEN is in effect agreeing with that group’s efforts to normalize homosexuality.
Mission America conducted a review of the materials recommended by GLSEN which confirmed that the group implicitly condones criminal sexual contact between adults with minors, which was a frequent, casual theme in their recommended materials.
In my part of the country, at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) just north of Columbus, Ohio, a Candlelight Light Vigil & Interfaith Prayer, sparked and advertized by GLSEN, is planned for Lawrence King.
While it is honorable to memorialize the murdered, OWU does not do this on a regular basis and certain does not do it routinely when other children are murdered. Of the 1,539 children murdered in the United States in 2006, OWU was unable to provide one example of a held vigil. Are not the murder all other children just as worthy to hold vigil and prayer? Certainly, there were plenty of opportunities.
Hate is defined rather loosely, and in some cases, used to marginalize against Christianity. For example, Mike Heath was accused of “hate speech” for relating biblical teachings warning of God’s punishment for those who cause innocent children to sin. Heath made his comment while opposing a middle school’s plan to dispense birth control pills without parental permission.
When Christians were murdered in Colorado’s missionary training center for the group Youth With a Mission, and the murderer clearly had it out for them, even taking refuge in an online support group for “ex-Pentecostals”, it was not coined a “hate crime” and little media attention was given in the longitude even after TIME magazine coined the incident: “Christians under fire”.
It seems when little average Johnny is murdered, you hear little about it, but when it happens to a “gay” child, it becomes an isolated issue, a gay thing, not a thing about how we can all keep children safe from all harms and bias. It seems in comparison, less emphasis is placed on the issues that leads to the murder of others and how we can bandwagon and organize prevention and awareness measures FOR ALL, regardless of the labels, and political agendas.
Yes, efforts are needed to eliminate hate. However, let’s not blur the boundaries between condoning how we confront issues we disagree with, or what we see contrary to our values. We can certainly teach children that they do not have to accept someone’s LGBT lifestyle, and also teach them at the same time not to harm that person with hateful words or violence. Our normal, average, everyday children can get that! Psychopaths can’t!
What bugs me is the trend for organizations, mostly gay lead, that make efforts to infiltrate schools and greater society with the partisan message that LGBT is normal and something to be embraced. No, sorry we don’t have to buy that. But at the same time, we don’t have to use hateful words or use violence (unless in self-defense). There is a difference!
The Gay and Lesbian Leadership Institute is teaming up with homosexual groups such as the Human Rights
Campaign, the Stonewall Democrats, and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force for an initiative called the "Presidential Appointments Project." It is being billed as a "talent bank" for openly homosexual professionals who want to "set or influence" policies of a potential Obama, McCain, or Clinton administration. The Institute is seeking resumes and says it will present approved applications to the transition team of the eventual presidential nominees.
If you look at THEIR WEBSITE will see that they poster 10 of their model “openly LGBT public Leaders”. Wow, they have 10, and not all 10 are even congressional members. For example, one is a sheriff, and one is a city counsel member. I guess city meter officers could also quality? At any rate, nettled among these shining, stellar poster “leaders” is none other than Barney Frank (D-MA).
Of course they did not mention that in 1990, the House voted to reprimand Frank when it was revealed that Steve Gobie, a male escort whom Frank had befriended after hiring him through a personal advertisement [I think this was pre-Craiglist, though], claimed to have conducted an escort service from Frank's apartment. The New York Times reported on July 20, 1990 that the House Ethics Committee recommended "that Representative Barney Frank receive a formal reprimand from the House for his relationship with a male prostitute."
According the Washington Post
Gobie, then 28, was one of many young men "freelancing" in male prostitution. Gobie said he was born in Boston and grew up in a military family. He has felony convictions for possession of cocaine, oral sodomy and production of obscene items involving a juvenile.
Gobie and Frank say they became more friends than sexual partners. Gobie says he attended a bill-signing at the White House, and helped coach and *played left field for Frank's team in the Congressional Softball League. "I was the star player," Gobie said. * No pun intended!
Frank began to help Gobie financially, paying his attorney and court-ordered psychiatrist. The House member also said he hired Gobie as a personal aide, housekeeper and driver, but Gobie said that was a "cover story" concocted for probation officers.
In late 1985, Gobie says, he began to use Frank's apartment and two other locations for prostitution. Frank knew about the prostitution all along, but it was never explicitly discussed, Gobie says.
"He knew exactly what I was doing," Gobie said. "It was pretty obvious. If he had to come home early {from work}, he would call home to be sure the coast was clear . . . . He was living vicariously through me. He said it was kind of a thrill, and if he had been 20 years younger he might be doing the same thing."
Yes, he is a leader among the “openly LGBT public leaders” ! Yes, “talent bank”, and as we see, Frank has often found ways to pimp around his “talent”. BTW: I love where Gobie said, "I played left field" on the Congressional Softball League. Softball not doubt! Too funny!
There is a silver lining. All fallen Republicans who want to continue their political career, can do so; its easy: Register Democrat and run for office in Massachusetts.
Take a look at this Imitator:
Just days after John McCain all but locked up the GOP presidential nomination, The New York Times today published a story suggesting he had an affair with a lobbyist eight years ago. Convenient timing, right, considering that they probed him about this last December. Why the story now?
McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship. But to his advisers are said to have warned them to stay away from each other. So?
Mr. McCain’s presidential campaign issued the following statement Wednesday night:
“It is a shame that The New York Times has lowered its standards to engage in a hit-and-run smear campaign. John McCain has a 24-year record of serving our country with honor and integrity. He has never violated the public trust, never done favors for special interests or lobbyists, and he will not allow a smear campaign to distract from the issues at stake in this election.
“Americans are sick and tired of this kind of gutter politics, and there is nothing in this story to suggest that John McCain has ever violated the principles that have guided his career.”
McCain is in my state of Ohio today and told reporters: "I'm very disappointed in the article. It's not true.”
BTW: Did The Times forget to mention the Obama sex scandal?
Larry Sinclair, the Minnesota man who is suing Sen. Barack Obama for issues stemming from Sinclair’s accusations that he did drugs and had a sexual encounter with Obama in the late-1990s, has agreed to take a polygraph test in an effort to prove his allegations.
The mainstream media has largely ignored the story to date, but an acquaintance of the infamous Robert Novak insisted to Big Head DC on Monday that a November column penned by Novak was referring to the Sinclair allegations.
Sinclair has maintained since at least last fall that he used cocaine with Obama and performed a sex act on him in 1999. Sinclair has thus far released several YouTube videos to back up his claims.
Big Head DC has learned that the results of the polygraph are expected to be released before the March 4 primaries.
Gov. Deval Patrick (D-Mass) said during his campaign a year and a half ago that words matter, like "I have a dream" and "all men are created equal." Obama used the same lines Saturday night in Wisconsin. In 1994, Bill Clinton nominated Patrick Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. He is now the governor of Massachusetts.
Hillary Clinton’s spokesperson accused Obama of plagiarizing Patrick, but Obama says he really doesn't think it's a big deal to use Patrick's words because they share ideas all the time.
But, I think I may have heard those "words" somewhere before? Maybe, Patrick is a plagiarizer too?
Obama in his speech said, “I like to talk”. But, if he likes to talk, can’t he be more original?
