CPAC Update: McCain Tells Conservatives What They Want to Hear
Despite Ann Coulter's assertion that McCain is really a liberal and “if [he] is elected president, we'll have a four-year disaster”
Matt Sanchez, reporting from CPAC says,
John McCain read off a conservative wishlist that spanned the lowering of taxes to the appointment of non-liberal judges. He even emphasized the importance of the right to bear arms, and was especially careful to promise a more secure border.
The mood [at CPAC] was skeptical, but by the end of the speech, even the most hardcore anti-McCain types seemed resigned to the new reality: We know who our candidate is, who will be theirs?
Huckabee was slotted to speak during CPAC, but I didn't see him on the agenda.
More to come.
